Hotel Features

Few people realise that this celebratory arch also doubles as superbly unusual setting for wedding ceremonies, receptions and unforgettable parties. It was built in 1825 and was an outer entrance to Buckingham Palace before being moved to its current location standing in its own green oasis at th heart of Hyde Park Corner as the traffic whizzes. A lift takes guests to the top of the arch, where two linked rooms provide a stylish and contemporary backdrop. A mezzanine gallery leads out to two external viewing galleries. Set beneath the galloping hooves of four horses pulling a chariot – the largest bronze sculpture in western Europe – guests can sip drinks while taking in fabulous views across Buckingham Palace gardens and Westminster. For photographs, the arch offers quite simply offers one of the most original and breathtaking backdrops in the capital. For both weddings or events, English Heritage provides the services of a hospitality professional to help fine tune arrangements as well as a range of carefully chosen accredited suppliers – from caterers to florists – to ensure every occasion runs smoothly and to the highest possible standards.
